Charcoal whispers serenade
midnight sky,
as ebony and saffron fade
and collide.
Roof-mount dreams
saturate as air swells,
painting this moonlit spell.
Pummeling rain pierces,
abrasive and sudden,
shattering this sullen dream to pieces.
Mouth open,
I taste your salt on my tongue;
regrets and fears become one
as unearned guilt
and unwarranted deprecation
absolve to concession and appreciation
for the nakedness of suffering.
Tears merge with cleansing rain,
as spirits join in resplendent pain.
